Im gonna guess Dwarf Fortress as it is the most popular ASCII game i know and also it has a lot of different tilesets.

Demo of MediEvil was in one of those demo packages that came along with gaming magazines, took me a while to remember that name though

In terms of graphics, this looks similar to the first or 2nd tomb raider, so I guess around ~1997.

Syphon Filter! I still have it here. Boy i never played through it, i always got stuck in the start area and got lost in the urban trainstation. Guess i was too young to understand how to play this game
