I aim around the shoulders and that usually connects the following bullets with their head OKish :s

Remmke wrote:I have this game aswell but i just cannot connect with the way aiming is done, there has to be some specific way to aim. I was basically in an ambush position, shoot a guy 3 times in the back with my duel wielding pistols, he turned around and finished me with one shot, yay, fucking yay.

I think we found the problem. Also, aim for the head. Kills them faster and with Desert Eagle with one. If they have armour pistols do quite little damage

Same thing happened with Rifles, short burst to enemy, he turns around duck jumps or some shit and kills me.

burst only if you're far away. Tap fire when you see his head.
Spray when you're in a narrow place with high chance to hit him.

So calm like a boss

@Remmke, it really helps watching streams and videos. It doesn't make you a pro, but it definitely makes your aim more comfortable :)

From a Silver2/3s perspective now, to get into aiming, positioning and such takes time and effort. It's very frustrating to get a new game, have a friend who has some experience and who pulls you straight into competitive Matches (happened to me) and you are just getting smashed against the wall over and over again.

How to overcome the struggle at the beginning:
- grab some nice people with some experience who aren't too ahead rankwise
- go into DM or download some Workshop Aim Maps and practise the most common guns (M4, AK, maybe FAMAS and Galil, P250, Glock-18, USP-S/P2000)
- do it like arnie, training, training and even more training will lead to more and more success :xenisafag:

But really the most important thing is probably the first point, nice people around you in your team who understand your struggle and try to help u as much as they can.
And i think in this ideal forum i think it's gonna be harder to find someone who is not ranked too high to play together with a beginner than finding nice and helpful people. :groove:

another thing that is very crucial, is the preaiming and crosshairplacement, you need to learn the maps by your backpocket so that you know every single angle you can expect an enemy to be at, and preaim on those spots all the time and be ready to click pew pew. Another thing is the grenade usage, don't throw useless flashbangs unless your teammates are asking for it and stuff.

How can you be silver 2/3. I am floating around GN 2 - 3 and it feels like I couldn't possibly fail any harder :|

good question, because it is the first CS i've ever played, because a friend took me to competitive matches right fromt he start on and because two other newbies (RL-Buddies) joined us who got no experience whatsoever aswell.

about 30 h of Competitive, quite a few private matches with buddies just4fun with rules like no AWP/Autosniper, only Scout, only Deagle etc.
Total time spent playing CS either Competitive or DMs will be around 70h (according to csgo-stats.com) i guess.

Very little BF2, BF3, Planetside 2...none of them really requires practise to shoot so that was the main issue i had at the beginning.

i have to say i've already crossed the point of prefering the ak over galil (wich was my t-side weapon of choice at the start) and the point of prefering the ak over the m4 as a CT.
